Raetihi is a small historical town (boasts the oldest movie theatre in the southern hemisphere) located on State Highway 4 about 10 minutes from Ohakune in New Zealand's North Island. Raetihi is close to the Whanganui National Park, Mts Ruapehu, Ngaruhoe and Tongariro, Turoa and Whakapapa ski fields and the famous Tongariro Crossing. It is the closest town to Pipiriki, the main entry point for day trips to the famous Bridge to Nowhere and the four day trek over the Matemateonga Track.
Raetihi is well situated as the launching point for a days skiing, hunting, fishing, tramping, mountain-biking or that peaceful getaway we all sometimes need. Also a great place to stay on a Friday night before that Saturday kayak adventure.

So close to all the areas attractions yet just off the beaten track, affording a peaceful place to come home to at the end of the day (and, psst, check the prices!).
