Fernwood Holiday Park, cradled between the Mount Arthur Range and Tasman Bay, Motueka is a popular stop for walkers en route to Abel Tasman National Park. The park lies 18km to the north, with its beautiful beaches, native forest, and hiking and sea kayaking opportunities. The mild sunny climate makes the area ideal for horticulture with grapes, apples, hops and kiwifruit grown locally. Motueka has a strong arts community and there are galleries and art studios to explore. Visit some of the nearby wineries, or pack a picnic and enjoy the beautiful sandy beach at Kaiteriteri. The trout fishing is superb in the Motueka and Riwaka Rivers, with sea fishing along the coast.
